Research Assistant (Mechanical Engineering)
Job Posting Details The Aerodynamic, Acoustic and Noise control Technology Centre () has carried out aerodynamic-based collaborative research with local sports teams/associations in performance sports engineering over the past 4 years. The Centre aims to help local elite athletes optimize their training strategy and effectively improve their performance in world-class competitions through scientific research. The current collaborations are on cycling and windsurfing. The research works may include one or more of the areas below:Participate in the design and development of advanced windsurfing and cycling wind tunnel testing rigs.Design the casing for embedded sensor systems.Develop new equipment for athletes to help improve performance or optimize training.Conduct sports engineering-related wind tunnel experiments.Maintain test equipment and tools, and support laboratory management.RequirementsA bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, automation, robotics, or electronics engineering.Proficient in the engineering design of basic mechanical structures.Familiar with electrical knowledge and master basic mechanical control software.Proficient in 3D design software, such as CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, UG and Creo(Pro-E), and AutoCAD two-dimensional drawing software.Familiar with Finite Element Analysis principles and software.Experience in experimental techniques, data processing and uncertainty analysis will be an advantage.Proficient in written and spoken English is a must and in Putonghua preferred.(Duration: 1 year, renewable) Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
