Overview:RMIT VIETNAMRMIT Vietnam, an entity of RMIT University, has campuses in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi since 2001. We provide internationally recognized, high-quality education and professional training for students, clients, and the community, and assist in the development of human resources capability in Vietnam and the region by hosting students from Australia and many other countries.THE BUSINESS SCHOOLThe Business School is the largest School in RMIT Vietnam with approximately eight thousand students on two campuses (Ho Chi Minh Saigon South and Hanoi). The school has three departments, 113 academic staff, four research fellows and 25 Professional staff. In terms of programs there are four bachelor programs, two PGCert programs, two Master programs and two PhD programs. Each department has one program and the fourth program has nine majors supported across the departments. The school is one of five schools of the RMIT College of Business and Law, Melbourne.There are six research clusters in the school, three hubs and a forward plan will seek to conflate this structure to a Digital technologies centre and sustainability cluster, with Tourism and Hospitality spanning both domains. The expertise and research foci of the school are blockchain, cryptocurrencies, cybersecurity, smart cities, sustainability, and these contribute to the four RMIT pillars for research.Recent growth areas have been in research and corporate education (AACSB accreditation is expected in 2024). Staff are currently transitioning into semester teaching whilst the school maintains three intakes and delivery. A new workload allocation framework is now applied to accommodate these developments.THE ROLEThe Research Fellow will plan and deliver research in accordance with assigned research projects attached to Department of Management, the research center/cluster and wider in the School either directly as project member, project leader or under the guidance of the project leader.Working under the general direction of the Head of Department of Management and Research Fellow Coordinator, the Research Fellow will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day research activities of the projects, acting as the first point of contact for all enquiries related to the research projects, research proposal, and provide leadership and management support for the school's research operation management, including developing and implementing research strategies, supervising research staff, building partnerships, managing budgets and resources, and conducting and publishing high-quality research. .Specific responsibilities will depend on the topic, nature and duration of the research projects, as provided by the Head of Department of Management and Research Fellow Coordinator.The Research Fellow will be expected to contribute specialist support, with technical or specialist expertise paramount.Key accountabilitiesSpecific responsibilities will depend on the topic, nature and duration of the project(s), provided by the Head of Department of Management. Duties may include:Conduct high-quality research individually or as part of a team, including: managing research projects within timelines, budgets and ensuring compliance with quality and reporting requirements; publishing research results in high-quality outlets as a lead or co-author; preparing and submitting external research funding applications in relevant fields of research together with other research fellows and/or lecturers from TBS; and supervising higher degree by research candidates.Assist the Management Department and the smart and sustainable cities hub in focused-area research projects of the department.Work in collaboration with the School's Research Center and Cluster Leads on research design, data collection, and the collation of results.Develop and implement research strategies and plans in alignment with the school's overall research objectives, contribute to publications, prepare and write progress and final reports for the high-quality research performance of the school's research portfolio and reputation.Conduct, record, and transcribe interviews in English or Vietnamese, with translation if required.Build and maintain relationships with other research institutions in the region, internationally, and with government agencies to support research collaborations and funding opportunities.Develop internal and external contacts to further knowledge and form collaborative networks.Plan day-to-day research activity and/or coordinate activities with the Head of the Management Department and the Research Fellow Coordinator.Support the Line manager and assigned reporting lines in developing and implementing research policies and procedures, research strategies, and engagement.Key selection criteriaUniversity Doctoral degree in Management/Social Science/Economics/Environment, Information Technology, or Digital Technology.3+ years of experience in a research position in an academic institution.Strong experience with research project development, implementation, and publishing (demonstrating leadership skills, including experience managing a team of researchers and staff members, is an asset).Ability to use Office 365, NVivo, and SPSS is desired. • Research experience in primary or secondary data collection.International research bid application and project management experience.Strong ability to conduct research, analyze, interpret, evaluate, coordinate, as well as report resulting information for high-quality research.Demonstrated strong ability to work independently and as part of a team and to liaise with people at all levels.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage budgets, resources, and projects effectively.Experience in problem-solving skills, preparing research reports, and creating graphic presentations of data.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver presentations and reports.Well-developed planning and organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and pay attention to detail.
