Research Scientist

Purpose
The Research Scientist will support the investigation and development of new processing methods for human cells, tissues, and cellular-based products. Under supervision, the will assist with various aspects of the assigned project including experiment design, process development, and data analysis.
Responsibilities
Assist in the development and execution of new product processing methods, process improvements, and product characterization efforts
Support the evaluation and optimization of laboratory test methods, procedures, and techniques to meet project objectives
Operate and maintain scientific test equipment required for project related tasks
Assist in the design and execution of scientific experiments, including data collection, interpretation, and reporting of results
Contribute to the development of project-related documents such as guidelines, protocols, reports, and presentations, in collaboration with team members
Assist in maintaining laboratory and departmental resources, ensuring organization, cleanliness, and readiness for use
Follow proper safety procedures in the laboratory, including the use of personal protective equipment, adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and hazard-free workspace
Conduct comprehensive review of peer-reviewed literature to support research projects under the guidance and direction of senior staff
Contribute to quality assurance practices in project design and execution
Uphold integrity and maintain responsible conduct of research to ensure compliance and ethical standards are met in all research activities
Maintain a working knowledge of FDA 21 CFR 1271, FDA 21 CFR 820, AATB standards, ISO Standards, cGMP/cGTP, other relevant regulations/standards, and internal organization policies and standard operating procedures
Maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality for scheduled work hours and meetings. Ensure completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities within defined timeframes
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours during weekdays or weekends with reasonable advance notice to support business/operational needs when necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Ph.D. program at an accredited 4-year university. Majoring in Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering, or a related discipline
Clearance of favorable background investigation required
