Reservoir Simulation Engineer

What you will do You will work closely with our global business units and central capability groups to integrate geologic, reservoir and production data into reservoir simulation models, conduct or coordinate reservoir studies to robustly assess dynamic performance of our conventional, heavy oil, unconventional and carbon storage reservoirs. Build or update high fidelity reservoir simulation models, history-match them using available field data, and forecast dynamic predictions using calibrated models. Perform data QA/QC and correct anomalies, analyze trends to recognize deviations and inconsistencies. Correct fit for reservoir simulation analysis to accurately predict dynamic performance and provide appropriate technical inputs to support business decisions like workovers, infill drilling, facility capacity & operational thresholds, field development decisions and reserves estimation. Quantify subsurface uncertainties using multi scenario modelling methods. Collaborate with geologists, wells/completion engineers, data scientists, and petro-physicists, as needed, to ensure that the range of uncertainty in dynamic performance predictions are presented to management. Prepare technical reports to share results and analyses using simulation studies with internal and external stakeholders. Support evaluation and enhancement of reservoir simulation workflows, tools and technologies. About YouSkills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in (petroleum / chemical / mechanical / aerospace) or other engineering disciplines with minimum GPA score & above. Minimum 3 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. Minimum 3 years of Experience with reservoir simulation. Strong analytical skills to evaluate critical operating parameters through data and trend analysis. For petroleum engineers, knowledge of basic reservoir engineering concepts including reservoir simulation, analytical performance prediction, and economic metrics. Good fundamental understanding/experiences in fluid mechanics, porous media flow, computational fluid dynamics. Hands on experience using proprietary or vendor engineering analysis tools and software applications appropriate to the corresponding engineering disciplines. Able to work in shift hours. Experience in data science, machine learning will be an added advantage. Mentorship and team leadership experience will be an added advantage. Preferred Qualifications / Experience For petroleum engineers, experience using reservoir (flow) simulation software such as Eclipse, Petrel RE, Intersect, or CMG is required. Experience in computational and/or data science (, computational fluid dynamics, 3D modeling, machine learning, and optimization). Experience in one or more programming languages such as MATLAB/C/Python will be an advantage. Experience working in Tableau and Power BI will be an advantage.
