Resident Engineer (Structural / Geotechnical, Building Engineering)

Job Description We are looking for several Resident Enginee for below project sites  Site: Public Housing Project in Tuen Mun Area 54 OR Public Housing Project in Tung Chung New Town  Responsibilities: Watch, inspect, test and examine materials used and workmanship employed in the structural works including works manufactured/fabricated off site Ensure the materials used and workmanship employed in the structural works are complying with the specification, drawings and construction procedure Identify defective materials and workmanship in the structure which do not comply with the specification, drawings and construction procedure and to co-ordinate appropriate tests on the defective structural works Communicate with the site supervisory staffs of the Contract Manager (CM) on structural works and to submit monthly report to the CM on progress and quality of structural works Resolve on site difficulties arising from unforeseen circumstances Ensure the structural works to progress with minimum disruption, and in cases of action involving variations to design, consult the designer and report to the CM or his Representative Report to the CM or his Representative any matters of unusual aspect Maintain site records on structural work and to co-ordinate the checking of levels and setting-out of structural works Monitor the progress and to produce timely information in advance of construction to avoid delay Coordinate builder's works requirements in connection with building services and deal with the consequential changes to structural design and to produce sketch plans and working drawings Check, supervise and inspect all Temporary Works and False Works as required in the Contract Attend regular and ad hoc meetings Assist the CM or his Representative in the investigation and to prepare report on the acceptance or otherwise the use of materials Participate the Quality Plan that is submitted by the Contractor to substantiate the fulfillment of Quality Supervision and Assurance Plan for foundation works, for site supervision and inspection Follow the Inspection, Test and Approval Plan (ITAP) for site supervision and inspection works Carry out the site supervision and management functions under the registered structural engineers/registered geotechnical engineers stream as outlined in the “Code of Practice for Site Supervision 2009 (2021 Edition)” and “Technical Memorandum for Supervision Plans 2009” and relevant Practice Notes for Authorized Persons, Registered Structural Engineers and Registered Geotechnical Engineers issued by the Buildings Department Participate in the weekly safety walk by the site staff of at least a professional grade Carry out spot checking of high risk construction activities by the site staff of at least a professional grade Carry out daily review with the Contractor of all high risk activities by the site staff of at least a professional grade Undertake any other duties in connection with site construction activities Undertake any other duties in connection with the requirements imposed by Independent Checking Unit (ICU) under the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Housing upon approval of statutory plan and consent for commencement of the works Qualifications RE(Structural) should be Registered Professional Engineer (Civil or Structural) or equivalent with minimum 5 years relevant post qualification experience RE(Geotechnical) should be a Registered Professional Engineer (Geotechnical) with minimum 5 years relevant post qualification experience Corporate member of HKIE (Structural or Geotechnical Engineering Discipline) Candidate with lesser experience or qualification will be considered for Assistant Resident Engineer post Additional Information #LI-EC1 About AECOM AECOM is the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle – from advisory, planning, design and engineering to program and construction management.
