Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Superintendent/Foreman to oversee and manage residential and commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating job site activities, supervising crew members, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations. This role requires a hands-on leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Carpentry:
- Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, including framing, installing doors and windows, cabinetry, trim work, drywall, and other finishing work.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to complete projects with precision and efficiency.
- Ensure that all work meets Rivers Edge Construction's quality standards and complies with local building codes and safety regulations.
Leadership & Team Supervision
- Direct, coordinate, and oversee daily construction site operations.
- Supervise work alongside and mentor construction crews, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
- Train team members on best practices, safety protocols, and proper tool usage.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Project Execution & Coordination
- Read and interpret blueprints, architectural plans, and construction documents.
- Plan, schedule, and delegate tasks to ensure timely project completion.
- Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain workflow.
- Monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and adjust schedules as needed.
Quality Control & Safety Compliance
- Enforce OSHA and company safety regulations to minimize workplace hazards.
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks with the crew.
- Ensure all work meets industry standards, building codes, and project specifications.
- Perform regular site inspections and quality checks.
Material & Equipment Management
- Order, track, and manage construction materials and supplies.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools and equipment.
- Optimize material usage to minimize waste and control costs.
Communication & Problem-Solving
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, architects, and inspectors.
- Address and resolve on-site challenges, including weather delays and unexpected issues.
- Maintain accurate reports, documentation, and daily logs of work progress.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or construction-related certifications .
- 5+ years of experience in residential and/or commercial construction.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in construction.
- Strong knowledge of framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and finish work.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites as needed.
Work Conditions:
- Majority of the work is indoors.
- Occasional work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and potential hazards (with proper PPE).
