Retail Project Architect

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to become a key member of a thriving commercial/retail team in central London. We are looking for an Architect, Architectural Designer, or Technologist with a minimum of five years of industry experience who is eager to take ownership of projects and support fellow team members. You will work on fast-moving projects, primarily at the planning and delivery stages, while also playing an integral role in supporting SRP’s most important clients and contributing to the firm's growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee architectural projects, ensuring high-quality design and execution.
  • Support team members and contribute to the development of SRP.
  • Coordinate work across different disciplines and consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with UK building regulations and industry standards.
  • Work primarily within the commercial and retail sectors while applying knowledge from other project types.
  • Prepare, illustrate, and present design concepts effectively.
  • Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp for project development.
  • Engage in technical and delivery RIBA stages 3-6.
  • Qualifications & Skills

    • Architect / Architectural Designer / Technologist with at least five years of UK industry experience.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic and organised approach.
    • Proven experience in managing live projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
    • In-depth understanding of UK building regulations and compliance issues.
    • Experience in at least two sectors, with a preference for commercial and retail.
    • Exceptional communication skills (fluent in written and spoken English).
    • Ability to visualise, illustrate, and present design ideas clearly.
    • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
    • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on increasing responsibilities.
