The Rigging Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all rigging activities within the fabrication yard. This role entails leading a team of riggers and ensuring that all rigging operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. The Rigging Foreman will develop lift plans, inspect rigging equipment, and enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. This position requires a proactive leader with extensive experience in rigging and lifting operations in a fabrication environment.

Rigging Foreman – Fabrication Yard Responsibilities 

• Oversee daily rigging activities, ensuring they are performed safely and in compliance with lift plans and project specifications.
• Create and review detailed rigging plans for lifting operations, considering load weights, rigging techniques, and safety requirements. Conduct pre-lift meetings with the team to discuss plans and procedures.
• Lead and manage a team of riggers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a culture of safety and teamwork within the rigging crew.
• Conduct regular inspections of rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, and hoists, ensuring they are in safe working condition and properly maintained. Ensure that all equipment is compliant with safety standards and regulations.
• Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies and procedures during rigging operations. Conduct risk assessments and safety briefings, addressing any safety concerns promptly and effectively.
• Work closely with the Lifting Supervisor, crane operators, and other yard personnel to coordinate rigging activities with project schedules and production requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of rigging activities, including equipment inspections, maintenance logs, and incident reports. Report any safety incidents, near-misses, or operational concerns to management.
• Identify and resolve issues that arise during rigging operations, ensuring minimal disruption to workflow and maintaining project timelines.

Rigging Foreman – Fabrication Yard Position Requirements 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in rigging and lifting operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role within a fabrication yard or industrial setting.
• Extensive knowledge of rigging techniques, equipment, and best practices.
• Rigging Foreman Certification or equivalent qualification.
• Crane operator and rigging certifications are .
• Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are advantageous.
