Compensation Range

The base pay scale for this position is $45.61 - $69.72. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

What You Will Be Doing

Preparation of patients’ clinical care summaries for Professional Safety Committee.

Field questions and concerns from staff with respect to patient complications and concerns

Liaison with employees injured on the job and HSS’s workers compensation insurer, AIG and third-party administrator, Gallagher Bassett. The Risk Management Safety Analyst will be a key part of the Risk Management team with primary responsibilities around the review of lawsuits, claims and events impacting MIAC, the Hospital-sponsored captive insurance program, as well as interacting with employees who have been injured on the job and their managers. The Safety Analyst will review medical records for professional liability lawsuits, claims and events and will prepare case summaries for Professional Safety Committee. The Safety Analyst will field calls from Hospital and Medical staff regarding patient complications and concerns and will provide risk mitigation guidance. Additionally, the Safety Analyst will coordinate the reporting of employee injuries to the Hospital’s Workers’ Compensation carrier and will assist in development of employee safety initiatives aimed at reducing injuries and claims”

Excellent clinical analytical skills – Epic review, Physician records review, excellent writing and communication skills – preparation of clinical care summary for Professional Safety Committee

Assess employee injuries, communicate with injured employee, file appropriate workers compensation forms and liaison with outside insurer and 3rd party administrator.

Review STAR system for both employee and patient occurrences.

Assess need for reporting of WC claims to outside insurer

Review monthly WC AIG loss runs

Attend meetings regarding patient and employee safety

Assess billing for clinical interventions following employee injuries

Clinical education – RN, PA or equivalent.

Knowledge of Epic

Excellent written skills

Excellent communication skills

Ability to pivot as needs arise and maintain calm composure during stressful situations

Ability to work in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to work with all levels of staff including physicians and Hospital leadership

Bachelor degree in Science, Nursing or licensed Physician Assistant
