We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a
Risk Management Safety Officer
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, facilitating, and coordinating our comprehensive hospital-wide Risk Management and Emergency Preparedness Programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to regulatory and accrediting standards such as the Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Fire Protection Association, and other healthcare regulatory bodies.
- Continuous Monitoring & Proactive Prevention: Keep abreast of changes in state and federal laws, as well as regulatory agency requirements related to Risk, Quality Management, and Patient Safety. Work proactively to prevent potential harm to patients, staff, and visitors by identifying and addressing hazardous conditions.
- Program Administration: Emergency Preparedness Program, Develop and execute Risk Management programs aimed at enhancing the quality of patient care and safety, aligning with regulatory standards and hospital policies. Keep all required plans up to date, conducting annual reviews on plans such as Fire Safety Management, Environmental Safety, Security, Hazardous Materials and Waste, and Medical Equipment.
- Training and Education: Plan, organize, and provide training to ensure staff comprehension of risk management and patient safety, as well as appropriate responses to emergencies. Conduct monthly fire drills and semi-annual emergency preparedness drills, ensuring staff readiness.
- Regulatory Compliance in Construction: Work closely with Maintenance to ensure that all renovation and construction projects adhere to healthcare facility regulations and standards.
- Committee Leadership: Chair the Environment of Care Committee, conducting assessments for equipment purchases used in patient treatment and care.
- Collaboration: Foster strong connections with department heads to guarantee seamless coordination, standardization, and ongoing alignment of Patient Safety and Risk Management programs.
Requirements:
1. Six months experience in risk management which includes assessing and monitoring standards to ensure compliance and investigating potential risks.
2. Six months experience in facility clinical risk management programs.
3. Six months experience in program design, implementation, and monitoring of compliance for regulatory and accreditation standards.
4. Six months experience in descriptive statistics such as mean, median, mode or standard deviation.
