Department: Field Operations / Facilities Maintenance
Reports To: ROW Team Leader
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
Maintains and protects assigned Greenville Water watersheds, rights-of-ways, grounds and structures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Performs maintenance work as required, including but not limited to, landscaping grounds, clearing rights-of-way, maintaining grass and orchards, installing signs and painting property lines, removing vegetation from water, dead and diseased trees, animal carcasses, debris and trash from grounds/highway ditches etc. Ensures ROWs and all access to them are maintained.
- Patrols assigned areas; enforces rules and regulations pertaining to the maintenance and use of ROW.
- Hauls rock, soil, debris, equipment, materials, etc., as needed to and from work sites.
- Utilizes EAM to evaluate condition of ROW and track ROW work.
- Performs all duties according to established policies, procedures, and standards of quality and safety.
- Maintains and performs minor repairs to assigned equipment.
- Prepares daily maintenance records and completes additional paperwork as required
- Participates in the maintenance of positive customer relations.
- Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other department supervisors and employees, co-workers, property owners, customers, and the general public.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- May be required to work rotating weekends and nights and on call
- Cleans water storage tanks
- Assists other division crews as needed
- Performs other related duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by preferably five (5) years of experience in watershed maintenance and protection, equipment operations, grounds keeping, general maintenance or related field is required; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must obtain and maintain a valid State driver's license. Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
Must possess knowledge and skill for operation of equipment used in maintenance of ROWs including trucks, riding mower, bush hog, dump truck, tractor, etc. Must be able to utilize a tablet and GPS when necessary.
