RT/UT Welder Fitter Hourly rate of pay: $39.93 (fully qualified) - Must progress through 3 Learner stages at lower rates We have opportunities for RT/UT Welder Fitters to join our production team at our facility in CAMBRIDGE , ON. Each member of our team plays a critical role in BWXT Canada’s success and in ensuring we meet our customers’ quality, cost and delivery expectations. Our RT/UT Welder Fitters are considered the best in the industry and we are proud of the high level of technical skills they demonstrate every day. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: To perform all types of manual welding in all position on Company products to quality standards and perform fitting operations. RESPONSIBILITIES: Read and interpret route sheets, drawings, Shop Instruction Sheet (SIS), Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), weld and rod cards. Plan and organize the RT/UT welding process. Identify and verify work piece material. Communicate with the team members and shop foreman. Perform basic fitting to a pre-established layout. Work in a safe manner, demonstrating good workmanship and practices. QUALIFICATIONS: Proven commitment to workplace safety. Commitment to quality and the ability to work as a positive, effective team member, willing to go the extra mile to ensure we meet our customer expectations. Understand and adhere to quality requirements and productivity expectations. Successful completion of an advanced welding program. 5 years manual welding in a heavy manufacturing environment. Ability to perform manual welding and repairs to RT UT quality standards and in multiple processes. Intermediate level understanding of blueprint reading. Must be comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights and in awkward positions. Ability to pass fit-testing for the wearing of a respirator, if required. Testing for this position includes: Test welded in the 6G position. Pipe material Carbon .625” wall thickness GTAW root pass in 6G position (visual inspection) SMAW fill and cap in 6G position (visual and RT Inspection) Must be available to work any of the following shifts: Days: 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Mon – Thurs) OR; Afternoons: 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Mon – Thurs) OR; Weekend days: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours).
