Safety Advisor

Job Vacancy An essential role within our business is available for an individual who excels in managing safety-related matters. In this position, you will proactively steer and enhance the health and safety culture on-site, offering assistance to the Regional Leadership Team regarding EHS matters. Additionally, you will hold accountability for managing injuries on-site. Reporting to the Burdekin Cane Supply Manager, your role will encompass the active promotion of on-site safety through audits, discussions, and comprehensive engagement across all facets of our site operations. This role focuses on our Cane Supply and Transport operations and maintenance activities primarily in the Burdekin district but extending to other regions at times Responsibilities of this role will include: Focus on Cane Supply and Transport operations, primarily in the Burdekin district, with potential extension to other regions. Serve as the driving force behind safety initiatives, collaborating with the Regional Leadership Team and General Manager EHS. Coordinate SHE Committee team meetings and communicate the SHE Safety Plan. Review and monitor the Safety Plan for compliance and effectiveness. Conduct weekly and monthly audits, supplying outputs to management. Act as Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator for the Burdekin Cane Supply and Transport, managing injured personnel and overseeing Work Cover matters. Ensure thorough completion of Incident Investigations, including incident reports and maintaining the Corrective Action register. Engage with various stakeholders, including Workplace Health and Safety Inspectors and Emergency Response Personnel, to exceed safety standards. Contribute to the smooth and safe operation of the site. The successful applicant We're seeking an individual with a strong commitment to safety, demonstrated through prior professional experiences. You will possess excellent communication skills, particularly in building relationships with external stakeholders such as Workplace Health and Safety Inspectors and Emergency Response Personnel. Proficiency in creating clear, structured documents and the ability to integrate well within a team are crucial. Qualifications include industry certification in Occupational Health and Safety, credentials in Training & Assessing.
