Job Title: Safety & Compliance Manager

Location: Temple, TX

Reports To: VP Of Operations (TX)

Primary duties will include:

Safety Programs & Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company safety programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, workplace inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, including policies, procedures, manuals, chemical inventory, and SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, coordinating inspections, compliance reports, and corrective action plans as needed.

Training & Employee Development:

  • Coordinate and conduct safety training for all employees, including new hire , ongoing education, and required certifications.
  • Track and manage employee safety training records, ensuring compliance with mandatory training schedules.
  • Organize and oversee safety drills (fire evacuation, hazardous material response, emergency procedures).
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to employees demonstrating unsafe behaviors and recognize those exhibiting safe practices.

Incident Management & Risk Mitigation:

  • Oversee workplace incident reporting and investigation processes, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Track, analyze, and report trends in workplace injuries, near misses, and compliance issues, recommending improvements.
  • Assist in post-accident procedures, including medical care coordination, drug screenings, return-to-work programs, and workers' compensation follow-ups.
  • Work with management to develop corrective action plans and retraining initiatives for employees involved in safety violations or incidents.

Emergency Preparedness & Facility Safety:

  • Maintain and regularly update emergency response plans and ensure fire protection, first aid, and emergency equipment is operational and compliant.
  • Coordinate vendors for facility safety maintenance, including fire extinguishers, alarm systems, ventilation, and PPE supplies.
  • Lead safety committee meetings and serve as a key point of contact for emergency response teams.


Continuous Improvement & Culture Building:

  • Develop and promote safety incentive programs to encourage employee participation in workplace safety initiatives.
  • Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging employees in safety discussions, providing recognition for safe behaviors, and addressing concerns.
  • Research and implement best practices to enhance workplace safety and reduce injury rates.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Related experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at one time.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work efficiently & effectively with internal team members, supplier partners, and industry professionals.
  • Set work hours with some flexibility in the case of emergencies or special training needs.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Bilingual in reading, writing English and Spanish .

education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is , High School Diploma required.
  • We will consider additional experience in lieu of diploma.

The essential physical & environmental requirements of the position are:

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to hear sounds and differentiate between them.
  • Ability to visually understand distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and have vision.
