Job Summary: Safety and Compliance Manager
The Safety and Compliance Officer will plan and direct the safety and compliance operations of the company.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees the operations of the Safety and Compliance Department.

Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.

Oversees HR Generalist and Recruiter
Duties/Responsibilities:
-
Maintains a documented system of safety policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

Oversees DOT, FMCSA, CDL requirements
-
Understanding of requirements related to trailering, intrastate, and interstate transport, and IFTA.

Experience with commercial driving.

Assessing the team's needs, conduct equipment audits.

Maintains CDL and DOT driver records and ensures their compliance

Manages driver's logs

Manages truck inspection intervals

Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's safety performance.

Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual safety audit.

Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficient in DOT, FMCSA, and CDL requirements.

Proficient in Google Docs, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:

Experienced DOT Officer
-
Bachelor's degree .
-
Five years or more of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
-
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
-
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
