Safety Coordinator

Brandt is currently looking for a Safety Coordinator in our Saskatoon location. Brandt’s Regional Safety Coordinators support operational excellence in health and safety. Together with operations and other stakeholders, they drive our health and safety culture and play a pivotal role in achieving our goal of being one of Canada’s safest companies.  Duties and Responsibilities Support implementation of Brandt’s corporate health and safety program for the assigned region.  Deliver or organize health and safety related training as required.  Conduct audits and inspections according to requirements.  Monitor the company’s compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and other legal  requirements.   Continuously improve health and safety outcomes and organizational performance by recording,  monitoring, reporting, and integrating health and safety program feedback and data.  Support employee and organizational excellence in health and safety.  #LI-onsite Required Skills Professional and ethical. Recognizes the importance of the coordinator’s role in modeling excellence in health and safety.  Able to work collaboratively, for example, with Corporate Safety, local committees and representatives, and  head office, operations and support staff, and Occupational Health and Safety Officers. Is self-directed and able to organize work, set priorities and achieve work related objectives and goals.  Is flexible in supporting and is responsive to the health and safety needs of Brandt’s operating locations  and their personnel. Can communicate effectively and professionally, both in person and in writing, and has very strong  interpersonal skills. Shows initiative in learning about Brandt and its products, and is committed to continuous improvement.  Is able to travel freely within North America.  Required Experience Completion of or evidence of working towards a post-secondary credential in the area of health and safety  (e.g. certificate or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution). Equivalencies would be  considered (e.g. health and safety work experience combined with training). A professional health and safety designation (e.g. CRSP, CRST or other designation) is a strong asset.  Has a minimum of three years experience in a health and safety role at the organizational level.  Equivalencies will be considered. Possesses a solid foundation of health and safety issues related to the company’s primary business and  operations (e.g. powered mobile equipment sales and aftermarket support).  Proficient in using computers and productivity software (e.g. MS Office).  Professional and ethical.
