Safety Coordinator (Entry-Level)

Position Overview:
Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Clinical Programs, the Safety Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the safety and security of the patients, staff, and visitors at the Council. This entry-level position focuses on assisting with routine safety checks, maintaining records, and ensuring that basic safety policies are followed throughout the building and grounds.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in workplace safety, compliance, and facility support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct basic safety walkthroughs of the building and grounds to identify and report potential hazards.
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date records of safety checks, incident reports, and emergency drills.
- Assist with organizing and filing safety documentation to ensure compliance with Council policies.
- Serve as a point of contact for reporting minor safety concerns and escalate as needed.
- Ensure entrances and exits are free from obstruction and properly secured as assigned.
- Provide general support to the Safety and Infection Control Committee as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Comfortable performing routine checks and completing reports.
- Basic communication skills; able to work well with staff and supervisors.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Prior experience in safety, security, or facilities support is helpful but not required.
Working Conditions:
- Regular walking and standing during building walkthroughs.
- May occasionally assist with minor lifting (chairs, signs) for safety drills.
