Safety, Health & Environmental Associate
The PositionSafety, Health & Environmental Associate (Intern/Co-op)Duration: 6 months (minimum), option to extend to 12 months.Modality: Full time (required) and Hybrid (majority of the days on-site and is required).Start Date: January, 2024 (start date flexible).Job SummaryOpportunity to support the Director of SHE (Security, Safety, Sustainability, Health (Wellness & Mental Health), & Environment) and the extended Corporate Services department to deliver services and programs to our customers and colleagues to enhance our safety culture and the employee workplace experience.Job Accountabilities: Safety & Security 40%​Support SHE onboarding for new hires, security access card management (issue, replace and terminate), review building access requests, maintain card database, update and distribute Material Safety Data Sheets for vendors, support SHE for travel or fleet initiatives, collaborate to create or modify existing programs, employee SHE training, business continuity and emergency management, monthly SHE related communications and programs.Health & Wellness 30%Participate and coordinate quarterly JHSC meetings, prepare agendas and take minutes, issue and track training for employees, conduct monthly safety inspections of building, ensure first aid room supplies are replenished, inspection and place orders, conduct ergonomic assessments and promote internal awareness, support monthly Live Well communications, wellness clinics and events. Environmental Sustainability 20%Support departmental projects aligned to various SHE Directives including improving building sustainability, transportation strategy, travel or fleet sustainability and global sustainability goals identified in the campus Sustainability Roadmap. Site Services 10%Support CS People Alert database including storage location assignments, contractor management for SHE compliance, SHE support for large events, building inspections.Who you areCurrently enrolled student in an Undergraduate or Graduate level (highly preferred in majors as Occupational Health and Safety).Availability to attend the internship in a hybrid model, full time and for a minimum of 6 months length.​Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.
