Reports To: Safety Manager

  • Position Overview:
    We are seeking a detail-oriented Safety Specialist to join our team in an administrative capacity.
  • This role will focus on supporting safety initiatives and ensuring compliance with safety procedures within the organization.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $55K – $75K, depending on experience
  • Time Off: 3 weeks of vacation, plus an additional week off during the holidays


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in Safety Program Coordination: Support the development and administration of safety programs to align with OSHA and company guidelines.
  • Compliance Support: Help maintain compliance by assisting with OSHA recordkeeping, tracking safety incidents, and following up on corrective actions as directed.
  • Safety Training Assistance: Coordinate training schedules, assist in creating training materials, and ensure all employees are up to date on safety requirements.
  • Administrative Oversight: Manage documentation related to EHS, such as maintaining safety records, incident logs, and attendance for safety meetings.
  • Support Waste & Environmental Initiatives: Help track and document waste reduction and recycling efforts; work with maintenance to ensure all safety equipment and plant facilities meet basic regulatory standards.
  • Coordination with Management: Work closely with the Assistant Plant Manager and other on-site leaders to communicate safety updates and ensure implementation of safety initiatives.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and organize EHS documents, maintain accurate records, and assist with monthly safety reports and audits.

Qualifications

  • Education: AAS in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field , or equivalent safety experience.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of safety or administrative experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, strong organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Industry Knowledge: Exposure to high-speed packaging, consumer products, or related manufacturing environments is a plus.

Experience

  • Regulatory Familiarity: Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Training & Communication: Experience in coordinating training sessions and maintaining training documentation.
