Safety Specialist

Our client is seeking a Safety Specialist to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, supporting safety audits, and assisting with training efforts to promote a safe and productive work environment. The Safety Specialist will contribute to the company's safety culture by reducing safety incidents and aligning safety initiatives with industry regulations. Focus: Assist in conducting regular safety audits at mine and plant facilities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Support the administration of safety policies and procedures, ensuring they are followed at all operational levels. Help manage MSHA inspector visits, addressing and mitigating any safety concerns or violations. Evaluate and update safety training materials to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Coordinate and assist with the delivery of MSHA annual refresher training, new miner training, and Part 77 training programs. Act as a key point of contact for employee health and safety inquiries, offering guidance and resolving concerns. Contribute to the development and execution of safety and compliance plans in line with MSHA regulations. Support emergency preparedness activities and be available for emergency call-outs as needed. Skill Set: 3-5 years of experience in mining, heavy manufacturing, or industrial environments with a focus on safety compliance and training. Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations and safety best practices. Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety concerns. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels. Ability to solve problems and adapt to changing safety requirements.
