We are hiring a Safety, Training, and Continuous Improvement Manager
The Safety, Training, and Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for driving a culture of safety, operational excellence, and workforce development in a fast-paced poultry processing environment. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, USDA, FSIS, and HACCP standards while implementing structured training programs and leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant safety, efficiency, and employee performance. The ideal candidate will combine a hands-on approach to process optimization with a strategic vision for long-term operational excellence.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Develop and enforce workplace safety programs in compliance with OSHA, USDA, FSIS, and HACCP regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and accident investigations in poultry processing areas.
- Lead training programs on PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine safety, ergonomics, and emergency response.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
- Promote a zero-incident culture by engaging employees and leadership in proactive safety initiatives.
- Training & Workforce Development:
- Design and implement structured training programs for production workers, supervisors, and plant leadership.
- Lead onboarding, cross-training, and skills development programs to improve workforce competency.
- Develop training materials, e-learning modules, and competency-based assessments.
- Track employee training progress using Learning Management Systems (LMS) to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to build internal training capability.
- Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize poultry processing operations.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, process improvement workshops, and root cause analysis to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as line efficiency, downtime, yield, and defect rates to drive operational improvements.
- Standardize best practices across shifts and departments to ensure consistent production quality and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, and production teams to enhance safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
- Work with maintenance on FI (focused Improvement) initiatives utilizing CMMS system to ensure adherence to PM (preventive maintenance) programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in safety, training, or continuous improvement in food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, USDA, FSIS, HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations.
- Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team collaboration skills.
- Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) are a plus.

- Certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), OSHA 30/510, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, HACCP Certified.
- Candidate must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug and background screen.
