Sales Representative, Steam & Gas Turbine

The Sales Representative will deliver knowledge of technical activities who can develop sales efforts and service clients within assigned region.

DESCRIPTION:

  • Generates and develops new business to meet specified production goals
  • Follow up on all leads provided by other APG employees and customers
  • Respond to all inquiries and RFQs
  • Maintains existing/assigned client relationships and ensure the sales log is kept current and up to date
  • Collaborate cross functionally with operations to adequately prepare customer quote with regards to pricing and scheduling
  • When an order is won:
    1. Review the order to ensure that price, scope, and schedule have not changed
    2. Prepare and forward release paperwork to shop
    3. Ensure that parts pick up or delivery to our facility is scheduled
    4. Ensure that all the technical issues are worked out or that there is a path forward
  • After the shop has provided an inspection report (if applicable):
    1. Contact the customer to ensure that they have an updated quote and schedule
    2. Obtain a revised P.O.
    3. Schedule customer visits as required
    4. Provide updates to the customer as required
    5. Notify the customer of any problems with their parts in a timely manner
  • Continually gathers information on local competition and prevalent industry and business climate within the region; communicates information to management and others as needed
  • Ensures that all required client paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted on time
  • Attends and participates in business/trade events that impact business unit
  • Attends and participates in team strategic sales meetings
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

WORK QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years of direct sales experience within the Combustion and or Steam Turbine Repair/Power Industry, managing a book of business
  • Proficient in generating new business as well as expanding additional opportunities with current customers
  • Must be highly driven and motivated to achieve sales targets and take initiative as well as a competitive edge
  • Team oriented with excellent communication and cross functional collaboration skills in order to effectively deliver superior service to the customer
  • Familiar with all processes associated with Turbine Maintenance & Repair

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business or an Engineering discipline or 10+ years of equivalent work experience

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet demands of the role
  • Up to 50% travel which may include overnight travel
  • While performing the duties of this job is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, vision, and ability to adjust focus.
