[What the role is]School of Applied Science - Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Food Science and Technology/ Food Biotechnology)The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will undertake curriculum development and delivery of diploma-related modules (under the Diploma in Biological Sciences) as well as be involved in applied science-based research projects. [What you will be working on]Job Responsibilities:• Teach relevant subjects in pre-employment and continuing education training programmes• Design and develop course materials for pre-employment and continuing education training programmes• Lead consultancy and research projects• Supervise and coach students for projects and extracurricular activities (e.g. workshops, competitions)• Mentor and assist in tracking students’ academic and non-academic performance• Partake in administrative duties related to the diploma course or within the school and public service• Deliver planned curriculum to adult learners on scheduled weekday evenings or on weekends and participate in assessment activities• Establish strong industry links and exposure, with experience in related sectors • To strengthen the institute's professional network in the food manufacturing and food service sector• To engage in technical capability development of related laboratories in the school[What we are looking for]Candidates should possess the following:• Relevant qualifications in Food Science and Technology, or its equivalent disciplines • At least three years of relevant industry and/or research experience in areas related to fermentation sciences, food microbiology, food product development, shelf-life evaluation and food safety management (HACCP, ISO/FSSC22000)•  Certification in WSQ Food Safety Level 4 or ISO/FSSC22000 FSMS Lead Auditor would be advantageous. • Proficient in IT, planning and organisation skills • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
