The Florida Regional Office is seeking an experienced Scheduler/Planner to support our growing operations. Our top priority is finding a seasoned scheduler with a background in fieldwork who understands the practical aspects of project assembly. The ideal candidate will have transitioned from fieldwork to scheduling and possess expertise in Primavera P6. We are not looking for a mere data entry specialist but someone who can effectively communicate with field crews, plan activities, and manage multiple schedules within our office. JOB SUMMARY:
Plans develops, and supervises all scheduling functions for a large, complex project or a group of
medium-sized projects. Ensures all project scheduling activities such as schedule development, up-- -
Dates, progress reporting, and problem analysis must comply with company and client requirements.
Responsible for the development and implementation of project scheduling standards and
procedures. The position is usually department head on the field site or senior level manager in the home office.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Manage and direct all planning and scheduling functions for a large, extensive project or group
of medium projects. Includes personnel administration and staffing activities, establishing
objectives, providing technical direction and support, employee development, etc.
Develop/implement project scheduling standards and procedures, monitor compliance, and
initiate corrective measures as necessary.
Assists in planning functions such as reviewing bid documents, creating a bid schedule with
appropriate work breakdown structure (WBS), manpower resource planning, and attending project
pre-planning meetings.
Ensure all planning and scheduling activities such as schedule development, updates progress
reporting, and problem analysis activities comply with company and client requirements.
Provide consultation to company personnel, A/E’s, primes and subcontractors, clients, etc. in
planning and schedule analysis providing options for problem solutions.
Create, maintain, and update budget and resource-loaded schedules for one or more projects.
Coordinate, supervise, and review preparation of specialty schedules, input, and progress reports,
i.e., start-up schedule and milestones, construction manager’s progress report, client’s progress
report, etc.
Develop reports and forecasts for schedule information.
Update project schedule with approved change orders.
Participate in project progress meetings.
Act as liaison with client on all matters relating to construction plan progress and look-ahead.
Analyze schedules and generate reports for project supervision and corporate management.
Attend meetings and site walks with other contractors, clients, and site management to review
and update project schedules and assist in resolving issues.
May also manage subcontractor or client schedules, as requested, and integrate them into
the Company master schedule.
Archive project schedule on close out.
Perform additional assignments per the supervisor’s and Project Management’s direction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A four-year construction, engineering, or related degree or equivalent combinations of technical
training and related experience, plus comprehensive (ten or more years) similar construction
scheduling experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
Thorough knowledge of diversified schedule engineering systems, principles, and practices plus
proven ability, creativity, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented
problems essential.
Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills required.
Solid knowledge of, and experience with, one or more scheduling programs such as Primavera
and MS Project is required.
The ability to assume full responsibility for one or more project schedules and interface and
communicate with others at the highest level of the Company and Client is essential.
Proficiency with standard office software.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with possible exposure to noise, dust,
fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and
all types of weather and temperature conditions. Occasional or frequent air travel with overnight
stays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Manual dexterity, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods;
Occasional climbing stairs/ladders, bending, stooping, reaching, and crouching;
Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents;
Lifting and/or exerting force up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of lifting/force
frequently, and up to 10 pounds of lifting/force constantly to move objects; and
Frequent driving of motor vehicles.
