DMPK Department

The Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics department is dedicated to enabling the discovery, development and commercialization of safe and effective medicines by elucidating the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and pharmacokinetic properties of small molecule drug candidates. We accomplish this through the application of state-of-the-art technologies and sciences of bioanalysis, drug metabolism, drug transport and pharmacokinetics. The DMPK group works in close partnership with disciplines such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacology and regulatory to optimize leads, select clinical candidates, conduct preclinical development studies, support clinical evaluation and contribute to IND and NDA filings.

Position Summary

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with a BS, MS or Ph.D. degree in biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science or related area background. This position requires an understanding of molecular and cell biology, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, and bioanalytical chemistry. Experience in drug transporter and metabolism studies. Relevant industry experience in drug discovery/development (+2 years with Ph. D; +4 years with MS; +6 years with B.S).

Position Responsibilities

  • Conduct in vitro drug transporter and metabolism studies for discovery and/or development compounds
  • Expertise in various analytical techniques like liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for in vitro samples drug quantification
  • Prepare study protocols and reports, as well as data summary
  • Ensure that all studies are conducted in a timely manner while maintaining the highest quality of data
  • Other tasks as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Conducting in vitro drug transporter and metabolism experiments using a wide range of in vitro systems to support pipeline projects in a timely manner
  • Excellent skills in handling and understanding of recombinant and primary cell lines (culture, seeding, storage, passaging, viability assays to ensure cell health for experiments) is critical
  • Working experience in in-vitro drug transporters, metabolism, and drug-drug interactions investigations
  • Working experience with primary hepatocytes, or co-culture models, is a plus
  • Analyzing experimental data, maintaining accurate and comprehensible study documentations in real time, maintaining notebook and generating accurate reports.
  • Demonstrate excellent scientific and technical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with flexibility to operate in a team environment
  • Working experience with LC-MS/MS based bioanalysis of in vitro experimental samples
  • Taking part in scientific development goals to improve data quality, capacity, and introducing new tools and techniques
  • Adhering to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for in vitro studies.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of experimental procedures and results.
  • Experience in drug transporter and metabolism studies.
  • Relevant industry experience in drug discovery/development
  • Ph. D with 2+ years experience, MS with 4+ years experience, or BS with 6+ years experience
