Scientist - Microbiology

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated individual with a scientific background in microbiology to join our fast-paced, entrepreneurial, team environment. In this role, you would be working with a team of engineers and scientists doing cutting edge research in the fields of microfluidics, phage therapy, natural product-based drug discovery, and organ-on-chip systems among others. The primary roles and responsibilities will include contributing to research proposals, planning and executing experiments, and analyzing and presenting data in written reports. Candidate will need to demonstrate strong communication skills while interacting with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) to shape technical solutions as well as communicate information to both customers and collaborators. Candidate should enjoy working within a team environment that includes a variety of technical areas of expertise and a passion for developing technology.

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor's or Master's Degree in microbiology, virology, or biological sciences.
• Fundamental knowledge with practical experience in microbiology required.
• Hands-on experience in bacterial cell culture, viral culture and phage assays, as well as molecular biology, and biochemical techniques.
• Candidate must have strong writing skills (scientific publications, proposal writing, and reports)

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with microfluidics, and/or experience with ESKAPEE pathogens will be considered a plus.

Location: This role is based in the Huntsville, AL area, and is 100% onsite.
