Senior Scientist/Scientist - Genomics

Frontage Genomics at Exton headquarter provides broad genomics services including full spectrum Next Sequencing, PK/PD service for Gene Therapy and Cell Therapy, Gene polymorphism analysis, gene expression profiling for applications in drug discovery, any molecular diagnostics development involved in cutting-edge biotechnologies.
We are currently seeking several senior scientists or scientists to join our team to manage and perform genomics assays for pharmaceutical companies developing new therapeutics.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Scientist/Scientist will manage contract research projects for Frontage’s clients. He she will perform all necessary tasks to generate a completed body of work ready for use in scientific publication, FDA submission, or further research and analysis by the clients. Tasks will include planning and ordering materials, drafting experimental plans, designing nucleic acid probes and controls, performing a range of bioassays, drafting methods and SOPs, analyzing data, and drafting analytical reports. The types of assays that will be performed will include droplet digital PCR, quantitative PCR, RNA sequencing, DNA sequencing, metagenomics, flow cytometry, and multiplex immunoassays. Duties will also include isolation of RNA, DNA, and proteins from multiple sources and evaluating the quality of these samples. Additional responsibilities will include maintaining equipment and facilities, ordering supplies, receiving samples, shipping samples, and extensive record keeping. The Senior Scientist/Scientist will also maintain regular contact with Frontage clients throughout their projects, providing reports and answering any questions or concerns as they arise.
Requirements:
- The position requires an BS, MS, or PhD degree with extensive coursework in molecular biology chemistry, and mathematics. Candidate should have three or more years of experience working full-time in an academic or commercial biomedical laboratory.
- The selected individual will have experience operating a range of laboratory equipment, running a wide variety of biological assays, and working with cells, proteins, and nucleic acids. Candidates with substantial experience in cell culture, nucleic acid extractions, qPCR, DNA sequencing, immunoassays, or flow cytometry would have an advantage.
- A working knowledge of modern genomics including the molecular biology of the cell, sequencing, microarrays, and genetics is required for the position. Candidate must be able to write neatly with good spelling and grammar, with demonstrated proficiency in keeping a lab notebook.
- The Scientist must also show competency in scientific writing such as the ability to draft and edit analytical reports and white papers.
- The selected individual will possess basic skills in mathematics that are relevant to the position such as calculating molarity, working with exponents and logarithms, linear interpolation, and basic statistics. The job require proficiency in Microsoft Office products including the analysis and plotting of data in Excel.
