Seasonal Laborer - Electric Maintenance
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Wage: $19.09/hour
In this seasonal role, you will have an opportunity to assist our full-time locators with marking underground utilities within the City of Brookings.
Essential Functions
1. Utilize paint and flags to mark locations of electric, telephone, water, wastewater and storm sewer facilities.
2. Monitor previously marked locates and reapply paint and flags as necessary.
3. Assist with accurately recording locates which includes attaching photographs of locates into electronic record system.
4. Provide assistance to other areas of the electric maintenance department as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Must be at least 18 years of by start date.
3. Possession of valid driver's license.
4. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Physical Demands
1. Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; speak; hear; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
2. Frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl.
3. Required to actively listen and communication with supervisor and peers.
4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, vision, and peripheral vision.
5. Occasionally required to lift, carry, and push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
1. While performing the duties of this position, the employee primarily works in an outdoor environment.
2. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will have frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, which may include extreme heat.
3. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal with occasional exposure to loud noise levels.
