Senior Associate, Site Reliability Engineer

We partner with other Pfizer teams focused on:· Manufacturing throughput efficiency and increased manufacturing yield· Reduction of end-to-end cycle time and increase of percent release attainment · Increased quality control lab throughput and more timely closure of quality assurance investigations· Increased manufacturing yield of vaccines· More cost-effective network planning decisions and lowered inventory costsIn the Senior Associate, Site Reliability Engineer role, you will work with other SREs, Product Owners, Software Engineers, Data Engineers and other key people to ensure our software is reliable and performant. You will own key aspects of the SDLC and Software Release process. You will work to architect systems and processes in a cost effective, performant, and safe manner. You will support our solutions by focusing on automation and continuous improvement.Most of all, you will use your passion for automation, quality, and curiosity to dive into any reliability or performance problem. You will figure out the cause of the problem and propose solutions to resolve it. Your drive for excellence will help us achieve new levels of reliability in our software.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Associate, Site Reliability Engineer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Ensure quality software and infrastructure is delivered on time within a fast-paced agile environmentCreate easy to use workflows in line with business needsMaintain and optimize Cloud infrastructure performance and costCreate automations for manual and repetitive tasksEnable cloud capabilities for SDLCExtend and optimize our CI/CD processCreate and maintain monitoring solutions for our servicesParticipate in the architecture design of new and existing applicationsBuild and maintain release & deployment knowledge databaseContinuously optimize procedures and processes to reduce deployments time and increase reliabilityBASIC QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplineMinimum 3 years of experience in Technology Operations, Software Development, or similar fieldExperience working with all of the following platforms:Kubernetes / EKSAWS EC2, EKS, EBS, S3, RDS, MSK or equivalents on other Cloud ProvidersGitHub Actions or similar Cloud based CI toolingExperience working with at least 3 of the following tools: TerraformFluxCD/ArgoCD or Similar GitOps based Kubernetes CD toolDockerPrometheus / GrafanaELK/ECK stackProficiency in Bash, plus at least one other modern programing language such as Java, JavaScript, C#, PythonOperational experience with at least one SQL and one NoSQL Database platform such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, DocumentDB, Neo4jExperience supporting the development of complex software products including the deployment of multiple versions / releases of a large productExperience working in teams to address software defect analysis, troubleshooting and resolutionExcellent communication skills (verbal & written)Proactive approach and goal-oriented mindset, research, problem solving and analytical skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPharmaceutical ExperienceGood knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud computingExperience working with JIRA, ConfluencePractical knowledge of Agile (Scrum), SAFe (Scalable Agile Framework) PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to manage many parallel objectives and changing priorities. NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Job will require working with global teams and applications.
