Location: onsite in Buffalo, NY.

What You'll Be Doing:Scope, design, develop, and support cost-effective automated manufacturing cells and automation systems, including robotics, machine tending, material handling, RFID systems, and automated assembly.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency, utilization, and output on existing and future manufacturing processes.
Oversee the specification and procurement of automation capital equipment, ensuring a balance between optimizing technological capabilities and return on investment.
Interact with internal teams and external automation integrators to implement automation solutions.
Lead the standardization of automated systems and equipment, including preparation of specifications, safety standards, and thorough documentation.
Lead and manage a team of 3-8 robotics, controls, and software engineers while collaborating with cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
Provide support and continuous development of existing automation projects within the company.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair automation-related software and hardware issues.
Travel may be required for research, development, and installation of automation systems.
What You'll Need to Have:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering with a focus on controls engineering.
10+ years of relevant experience, including automation and control systems projects.
Experience with industrial robotics programming and integration.
Knowledge and experience with CNC machine tool tending and interfaces.
Background in control system software and PLC programming.
Experience with SCADA and enterprise system interfaces.
Familiarity with Ignition, Fanuc, and Rockwell Automation.
Strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Solid understanding of mechanical, software, electronics, and electromechanical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Experience:Aerospace industry experience.
Lean manufacturing experience.
Demonstrated ability to implement change management effectively.
