Role Overview:
We are seeking a gifted Senior CFD Application Engineer with a specialty in the automotive sector to join our dynamic team. This role is crafted for an individual passionate about harnessing cutting-edge simulation technology to redefine the automotive design and engineering process. The ideal candidate will bring a pioneering spirit, coupled with substantial experience, to leverage Flow360 in solving complex fluid dynamics challenges and shaping our product forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with automotive customers to utilize Flow360 to conduct high-fidelity CFD simulations for automotive design, ensuring optimal performance and aerodynamics.
- Working with our product and solver development teams to define and improve usability, accuracy and efficiency of Flow360.
- Provide expert consultancy to our customers on utilizing Flow360 to tackle their most intricate design challenges, thereby fostering strong partnerships and driving customer success.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support broader business goals

Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with external flow, internal flow and/or aeroacoustic problems in the automotive/motorsports industry.
- A master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with an emphasis on Computational Fluid Dynamics.
- A deep understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and related physical principles as applicable to automotive design and engineering.
- Knowledge of and experience applying industrial CFD best practices to a broad range of applications. Expertise with a variety of CFD methods is a plus, including experience with open-source and/or commercial CAD, meshing, simulation, and postprocessing software.
- Demonstrated understanding of CFD principles, theories, and numerical methods. Apply this knowledge to simulate, analyze, and optimize fluid flow and heat transfer phenomena.
- Proficiency in Python programming and experience with relevant libraries for scientific computing and numerical analysis, such as NumPy, SciPy, and Matplotlib. Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of leveraging CFD to drive significant product or process improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment and adapt to evolving project requirements and priorities.
