The Role:
As a Senior Building Physics & Sustainability Engineer, you will lead a team in conducting calculations and reporting to empower public and private sector clients in fulfilling legislative, environmental, and net-zero commitments. Your role is pivotal in delivering high-quality, well-articulated outputs and performing building performance analyses, including Part L compliance, overheating assessments (CIBSE TM59), BRUKL reports, and TM54. You will stay vigilant in tracking legislative changes, regulations, and guidance.
Your Profile:
You bring a profound understanding of thermal analysis, encompassing peak plant sizing, annual energy analysis, lighting control, daylighting, and natural ventilation. Additionally, your skillset encompasses site inspections, covering thermal analysis inputs, plant inspections, and O&M manual reviews. Your knowledge spans the principles of building physics, from concept design input and options comparisons to thermal modeling.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proficiency in IES modeling.
- Desirable experience with Apache HVAC and/or EPC accreditation.
- A degree in science, engineering, or a related field, with a preference for a building sustainability/energy-related MSc.
- Favorable accreditation as a Low Carbon Consultant (design and DSM) and Energy Assessor (level 5).
- Desirable CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant accreditation.
- A solid working knowledge of BREEAM.
