Position Summary

As we expand our team, we are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Senior Buyer/Planner who shares our dedication to delivering exceptional service and ensuring smooth procurement processes. The Senior Buyer/Planner will handle the procurement of raw goods, supplies, and services, monitor contracts, and ensure timely deliveries. This role requires a proactive communicator with strong attention to detail, who can juggle multiple responsibilities efficiently. While a background in firearms is , it is not required.
Core Competencies
- Vendor Management: Vetting, certifying, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective procurement.
- Strategic Sourcing: Efficient sourcing and obtaining quotations aligned with Q's master production schedule.
- Contract Negotiation: Ability to negotiate favorable terms and contracts.
- Inventory Control: Monitoring inventory levels and managing timely stock replenishment.
- Cross-functional Communication: Effective liaison with internal departments to meet purchasing needs.
- Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving order discrepancies and vendor-related issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Vendor Certification: Vet and certify existing and new vendors to meet Q LLC standards.
- Quotation & Sourcing: Obtain quotations aligned with the production schedule and compare prices, terms, and quality for purchasing decisions.
- Contract Negotiation: Secure favorable terms on contracts or purchase orders.
- Relationship Management: Manage relationships with outsourced manufacturers to ensure smooth operations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
- Inventory Monitoring: Track shortages and inventory levels to prevent stockouts.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure timely delivery of parts to the right place.
- Inventory & Budget Management: Execute the purchasing budget, monitor compliance with procurement guidelines, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with quality teams to implement supplier quality programs and communicate corrective actions to vendors.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications relevant to purchasing and inventory management.

Education and Experience
- Required: High School Diploma, with a focus on business or computer curriculum.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in inventory control or a related field.
