SAIC is hiring a
Senior Chemical Engineer with a TS/SCI clearance
to support the Senior Defense Official for the R&E S&T response to Contested Logistics, ‘Assured Provisioning. The Chemist will lead the development of technology investment roadmaps focused on the design and testing of distributed, scalable, low energy approaches to the synthesis of chemical building blocks for vital military supplies. Assured Provisioning requires the integration of productive capabilities across resource/supply classes within mission constraints. A critical task will be to develop methods and data sources to estimate overall energy constraints for a given operational environment by mission target. This position places an emphasis on the ability to lead the construction of new S&T pathways for investment, to conduct experiments, oversee data acquisition and analysis, and testing and evaluation.
The position is hybrid remote with onsite work located in Arlington, VA.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop, manage and coordinate plans according to calculated benchmarks and milestones.
Utilize mathematical and statistical techniques to build out performance goals for S&T advancement in service to military mission constraints.
Document use cases, manage measurements and data, interface with key study teams, experimentation and testing teams, and ability to contribute information to modeling and assessment teams.
Demonstrate creativity and foresight by identifying, preparing, and presenting detailed technical reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects, and defining future technology requirements.
Collaborate with other engineers and scientists and work domain experts in the planning, design, development, and testing of new technologies.
Draft test plans, conduct task analyses, write evaluation protocols for usability research activities.
Qualifications
Required Clearance:
TS/SCI.
U.S. citizenship.
Required Education:
Bachelors and fourteen (14) years' or more experience: Masters and twelve (12) or more years' experience
.
Required Qualifications:
Broad experience, coupled with technical depth in disparate domains of chemical synthesis, catalysis and prototyping.
Capable of defining structured problems, projects, and S&T investment programs.
Ability to work with little or no direction.
Attention to detail, strong multitask and time management skills.
Ability to work in a highly complex, fast-paced environment meeting tight deadlines.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – must be able to deliver high quality reports and presentations to clients and sponsors.
Desired Qualifications:
Record of writing and publishing refereed articles in academic journals or industry publications.
Past research in appropriate areas of chemistry, materials, or chemical engineering.
