Senior Chemical Engineer - Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify enhancements to quality, reliability, cycle time, cost reduction, and yield.
  • Assist with the design, construction and start-up of new or improved production equipment.
  • Lead the implementation of small capital projects related to process improvement.
  • Partner with R&D to roll out product scale up and new product information in the manufacturing units.
  • Support manufacturing to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Investigate production quality issues to identify root cause and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to develop, coordinate and implement technical training for employees.
  • Promote and nurture a positive and safe culture.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience as an engineer; preferably with a background in production/process area of chemical products
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Familiar with the following large-scale batch processing:
    • Esterification reactions
    • Neutralization
    • Washing
    • Distillation
    • Steam Stripping
    • Filtration
    • Pastillation
  • Experience in Rockwell Automation or similar PLC experience
  • Experience with continuous improvement
  • Experience in Process Safety Management
  • Six Sigma training
