Job Description
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Transportation, Civil, or Municipal Engineer for our growing London office. Our existing workload includes road, transit, and linear infrastructure in Ontario. Experience in some or all of preliminary and detail design, tender preparation, water and sewer design is required. Additional skills such as transportation planning, traffic management, and traffic engineering would be an asset.
This role will entail the utilization of skills in leadership, engineering review and quality control. As an engineer, you will be asked to work alongside project managers, provide direction to designers, and engage with clients as required. Role Accountabilities:
Project Engineer on transportation and municipal infrastructure projects such as preliminary design, detail design, tender preparation, and construction support
Project Management opportunities would be available if desired
Technical lead for large- and small-scale projects
Review of preliminary and detailed design drawings, reviewing and supporting report-writing (e.g. design memos, functional servicing reports, etc.), proposal writing
Coordinate with Project Manager to support staff productivity and utilization
Report to Project Manager, Project Director, and Team Lead
Mentor junior and intermediate staff members
Foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus, quality output, and meeting deadlines
Qualifications
Bachelor’s University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
10+ years of engineering experience in municipal, civil, or transportation engineering
P.Eng. license to work in Ontario is required
Experience with MTO, City of London, Region of Waterloo, or other Ontario municipality are an asset
Experience with preliminary and detailed design of arterial/municipal roads and linear infrastructure (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety, external drainage areas, sewer design)
Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and Civil3D are an asset
Understanding of traffic engineering principles
Familiar with construction processes and sequencing
Ability to work independently as well as in groups as a leader or a team member
Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills are expected
Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with a commitment to excellence and high-quality work
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
