Senior Civil Structural Engineer
Location: North of England
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (+ benefits)
Position: Permanent

Our clients are global leaders in the energy sector, providing innovative solutions for sustainable power generation, transmission and distribution. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of infrastructure projects, including electrical transmission and multidisciplinary works, with a strong emphasis on both civil and structural design.

The successful candidate will be leading the civil and building design elements of various infrastructure projects, while ensuring technical support is provided to procurement and construction teams. This role requires experience in the full lifecycle of design, coordination, and management of design processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the civil and structural design elements of electrical transmission infrastructure projects, including substations and HVDC.
• Review designs to ensure they meet required standards and contract specifications.
• Working with consultants to manage to manage timeline and design scope of projects.
• Draft Scope of Services and Works documents for consultants.
• Undertake site visits to assess project constraints and resolve issues that may arise during construction.
• Collaborate with procurement and construction teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree or equivalent in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 6 years of post-graduate experience in multidisciplinary projects (e.g. substations, water industry and similar)
• Previous experience producing and/or reviewing designs using Tedds, STAD-pro or similar design software.
• Strong understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and associated health & safety legislation.
