Senior Civil Estimator (w/Australian experience) | WFH | Day Shift
Job Description Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented Civil Estimator to analyze project requirements, assess costs, and prepare competitive estimates for civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accuracy in project planning and execution. This role plays a crucial part in securing successful bids and maintaining project profitability. Key Responsibilities: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for civil engineering projects. Collaborate with the project management and engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop accurate estimates. Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and cost analysis for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to prepare detailed estimates and cost breakdowns. Research and evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids to secure competitive pricing and ensure project cost effectiveness. Present and defend estimates to management, clients, and stakeholders, providing clear explanations and justifications for proposed costs. Continuously monitor project budgets and provide ongoing support to the project team to identify and address cost-saving opportunities and potential risks. Requirements Requirements/Qualification Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Proven experience as a Civil Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong track record of successful project estimates. Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools. Excellent understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents and drawings. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project costs. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) is a plus.
