Overview

Our License Renewal Team is looking for a Senior Civil Structural License Renewal Engineer to work in our Kennesaw, GA or Chattanooga, TN office. In this dynamic role, you'll be at the forefront of regulatory expertise, driving impactful research and building strong client relationships. Your efforts will be crucial in supporting licensing and aging management programs, ensuring compliance and excellence every step of the way. Remote work will also be considered for highly experienced candidates.


Responsibilities

As the Senior Civil Structural License Renewal Engineer, you will lead the development of key regulatory documents for the NRC, stay ahead of industry trends, and mentor teams as the go-to civil/structural expert in nuclear license renewal. Collaborating closely with clients, you'll ensure compliance while driving impactful technical solutions.


Provide regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal and/or presentation to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), other regulatory agencies, or clients, with accountability for accuracy and completeness of these documents, with a focus in the civil/structural discipline

Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs


Monitor changing regulatory trends and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, guidelines, practices, and industry standards of the nuclear industry


Develop relationships with current and potential clients licensing staff with regular interface to ensure client satisfaction as well as proactive identification of support opportunities


Provide input to project/program work schedule regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them in order to implement project


Ensure successful implementation of various aging management programs such that NRC commitments associated with License Renewal are fulfilled


Serve as a civil/structural SME and mentor within the license renewal group internally


Act as the license renewal industry representative for significant technical issues within the civil/structural discipline


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university AND 10+ years of experience in the nuclear industry


Minimum 2 year of license renewal experience in the nuclear industry


Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting design and licensing of nuclear plants including the documentation that supports these processes


Must possess knowledge and understanding of nuclear power plant design and operations


Preparation and review of aging management program documents supporting license renewal implementation


Preparation of gap analyses and 10 CFR 54.37(b) reviews


Site coordination of implementation of license renewal commitments and aging management programs


Ability to represent ENERCON and/or clients at NRC, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory agencies meetings and workshops


Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making


Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product


Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment


Provide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leader


Technical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry


Possess ability to mentor engineers on civil/structural technical topics
