Senior Construction Project Manager II

We are seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Project Manager II. This role will involve providing construction oversight and managing large-scale construction projects. The Senior Project Manager II will ensure the projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all relevant standards. This individual will be responsible for resolving complex issues, overseeing multiple projects, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and provide oversight to OARs (Owner’s Authorized Representatives) for assigned construction projects.
  • Resolve complex construction-related issues, disputes, and disagreements.
  • Review project progress relative to construction schedules and assess change orders.
  • Assist with bid and contract planning in collaboration with Facilities management staff.
  • Manage fiscal oversight of multiple construction projects, ensuring compliance with cost control and payment procedures.
  • Provide direction in construction project scheduling, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control.
  • Coordinate activities with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
  • Review and resolve disputes related to construction projects.
  • Recommend and help implement internal policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 17 years of full-time paid professional experience in project/construction management.
    • 5 years managing large programs with construction values over $50 million (not cumulative).
    • 5 years of experience in educational facility construction, public works, or large commercial projects (experience may include projects outside California).
  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management from a recognized college or university.
    • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with the ability to complete the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential within one year of employment.
    • 20+ years of relevant experience in construction or project management may substitute for education requirements, with the candidate required to complete CCM certification within one year.
  • Certifications:

    • A valid CCM credential at the time of submission can substitute for educational requirements.
  • Experience:

    • Design Build experience.
    • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
    • Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) or Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS) certified projects.
    • Familiarity with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes.
  • Licenses/Certificates:

    • Valid registration as an Architect or as a Professional Engineer is .
