Position Overview
We are looking for our next Senior Consultant to support and grow our Energy Solutions practice; you should have 7+ years of professional experience in the electric power industry
analyzing, developing, and evaluating solutions to power supply and demand problems.
Examples include utility planning and operations, policy development and/or implementation, energy trading, economic analysis, grid studies or power flow simulations, or project developer. Your experience could be at an integrated electric utility, a state agency or regulatory body, a consulting firm in an energy practice, or at a not-for-profit focused on solving these problems. You will have had a role managing or leading teams and interacting stakeholders whose problems you are responsible for solving.
You will have technical knowledge and an interest in understanding and working collaboratively to solve the challenges that our industry faces as the power grid decarbonizes in the face of an ever-increasing demand for electricity.
At Sapere, you will apply your experience to our client engagements as a contributor, team member, and leader of projects.
You will work with Sapere team members and clients to identify client needs; conceptualize solutions; define and implement project scope, schedule, and budget; and deliver quality work products. You will be expected to help Sapere develop leads and build client relationships. You will be a self-motivator, intellectually driven to constantly learn and adapt your knowledge to a variety of client organizations and types of projects. You will contribute to the professional growth of other consultants.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
7+ years of professional employment in one or more of the following areas:
utility planning and/or operations;
power portfolio analysis;
analyzing and procuring generating resources;
development and implementation of energy policy initiatives;
planning and implementing large capital projects;
planning and implementing new technologies and systems;
defining and managing technical scope, schedule, and budget;
managing teams and delivering projects;
strategic planning; and/or
business/project risk analysis
Experience with Microsoft Office software (e.g., Excel, Visio, Word PowerPoint)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to write concisely and create compelling presentations
Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment
Entrepreneurial spirit, curiosity, and a passion for learning
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
US citizenship or the ability to work in the US without sponsorship
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a relevant field
Technical sales and client engagement experience
Strong network of contacts in the energy industry
Leadership experience
Technical modelling skills
Strong understanding of Federal and State energy policy
Understanding of electricity markets
Working knowledge of generating resources and emerging technologies
Experience managing complex, multifaceted projects
