About the Role:
Our client, a leading manufacturer of tube bending machines and bespoke automation systems, is seeking a skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong PLC and robotics background, capable of leading projects, coding from scratch, and commissioning complex machinery.
You will be involved in both the design and delivery of automation solutions for bespoke equipment, including ancillary equipment, loaders, unloaders, pick-and-place systems, and robotic solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, program, and commission control systems for bespoke automation and machinery, including pick-and-place units, bending machines, and more.
Lead projects from inception through to delivery, including project management responsibilities.
Develop and write control code from scratch (PLC programming).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical support and expertise.
Commission and troubleshoot automation systems onsite.
Work on major projects, including complex systems for BEE systems with Siemens PLCs and systems with multiple machines, valves, and server drives.
Oversee the integration of robotics and automated solutions for enhanced production efficiency.Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, with a strong background in PLC programming (Siemens ) and HMI systems.
Robotics background is essential, with the ability to integrate and program robotic systems.
Strong experience in programming and commissioning bespoke automation systems (e.g., tube bending machines, pick-and-place, loaders/unloaders).
Proven ability to lead projects independently and work in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Capability to write code from scratch and deliver projects from concept through to execution.
Experience working with complex systems, such as multiple machines, valves, and server-driven solutions.
Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to collaborate with teams and clients.Desirable:
Experience with Siemens PLC and associated software.
Prior exposure to large-scale projects and commissioning of automation equipment.Working Conditions:
Majority of work will be onsite at the company’s facilities and client sites.
