Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to lead our technical security initiatives. This individual will be responsible for the security of our network infrastructure, managing incident response, and ensuring our company operates within a Zero Trust framework. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in network security engineering, incident response, security architecture, and vulnerability management.
This role will be the technical lead for security configurations, troubleshooting, security awareness, and incident response, working closely with IT and business stakeholders to ensure a secure and resilient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Security & Engineering
- Configure and manage networking equipment (firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, etc.).
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and optimize security configurations.
- Maintain a Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) across the organization.
- Incident Response & Security Operations
- Serve as the first point of contact for cybersecurity incidents and lead incident response efforts.
- Investigate, contain, and remediate security threats in real-time.
- Work on cybersecurity tickets and ensure timely resolution.
- Security Governance & Policy
- Maintain and enforce security policies and procedures.
- Provide security recommendations to leadership and IT teams.
- Ensure security best practices are followed across teams.
- Vulnerability & Risk Management
- Oversee the company’s vulnerability management and patching strategy, including risk assessment and remediation plans.
- Work with IT teams to ensure timely patching and risk mitigation.
- Security Architecture & Engineering
- Lead the design and implementation of secure IT architecture.
- Ensure all projects and IT changes align with security best practices.
- Project Management & Documentation
- Ensure security projects are completed on time and meet business requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive security documentation (runbooks, policies, incident reports, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in network security and cybersecurity engineering.
- Clean and valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Satisfactory background and pre-employment drug screening
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong technical background in firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud infrastructure and security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with incident response, SIEM tools, and threat hunting.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles and implementation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for network and security incidents.
- Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Ability to write scripts for automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Skills and Competencies:
- Effective communication and ability to translate technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong project management abilities to drive strategic initiatives.
- Ability to lead security initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure during incidents.
