Job Title: Senior Data Architect
Location: Quincy, MA
Duration: 6 Months

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to join their Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) Projects. This large-scale initiative is focused on creating a consolidated Enterprise Data Platform using modern cloud tools such as AWS and Snowflake, migrating from legacy systems like SAS. The Senior Data Architect will play a crucial role in designing and implementing cloud-based data management systems, ensuring data is managed efficiently and securely, and supporting the organization’s data modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop the architecture for cloud-based data management systems.
• Implement centralized (Data Warehouse) and decentralized (Data Mesh) data architectures.
• Create data models including data storage, access, and usage patterns for cloud environments.
• Define data security policies, authentication, and authorization mechanisms for cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect highly scalable, available, and performant cloud data solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud products and services for efficient data storage and processing.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and best practices for cloud data management.
• Implement data management and governance processes for cloud data platforms.
• Analyze and document cloud data architecture strategies and designs.
• Conduct regular performance assessments of the overall system and create action plans.
• Lead team design sessions, facilitating key decisions on data architecture.
• Manage data integration efforts using tools such as Snowflake, Informatica IICS, SQL, Python, Airflow, and GitHub.
• Ensure timely delivery of solutions that meet requirements and expectations.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Data Architecture, data warehousing, data modeling, ETL, enterprise systems, and system engineering.
• Expertise in data warehouse and enterprise data architecture principles.
• 3-5 years of experience architecting and developing cloud-based data solutions, specifically with AWS.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud database platforms, particularly Snowflake.
• Experience creating, reviewing, and maintaining end-to-end data architectures.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain solutions to technical stakeholders, vendors, and business users.
• Proficiency in Unix, Linux, and shell scripting.
• Experience with large, multi-terabyte enterprise data platforms in the cloud.
• Experience in Informatica (IICS) ETL and Python coding.
• Familiarity with data privacy standards and controls.

Skills/Experience:

• AWS Certification or Cloud Data Architect Certification.
• Snowflake Certification.
• Experience with Tableau reporting.
• Experience with Informatica IICS.
