The opportunity for a Senior Design Architect to join an award-winning architecture practice with over 40 years of experience delivering luxury residential, commercial, and conservation projects. Collaborating with the studio's award-winning team, the Senior Design Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the initial vision of projects, from concept to planning, while maintaining a dialogue between heritage constraints and contemporary architectural solutions

Role & Responsibilities

  • To initiate design on projects from stages 0 to 3, including the formulation of the brief and development of the concept designs
  • \n

  • Collaborating closely with the studio delivery team to finalise proposals through to stage 3 and into the subsequent project phases
  • \n

  • A key part of this role includes producing concept sketches and ideas using both hand drawing techniques and computer-based tools
  • \n

  • To liaise with Directors and the technical delivery teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • \n

  • To supervise the production of planning drawings and coordinate with the design team
  • \n

  • Prepare design and access statements, arrange and attend pre-submission meetings with planning and design officers
  • \n

  • Prepare and submit planning and listed building consent applications
  • \n

  • Coordinate the discharge of consent conditions.
  • \n

Required Skills & Experience

\n

    \n
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience post Part-III
  • \n

  • A minimum of 5 years UK experience working in professional practice
  • \n

  • Experience working on high-end residential or high-end commercial/hotel projects with a contract value of circa £5million upwards
  • \n

  • Proven experience in delivering concept designs to RIBA stage 3
  • \n

  • Strong hand drawing/sketching skills are essential
  • \n

  • Strong management skills with the confidence to lead a small team
  • \n

  • Confident communication skills, particularly when dealing with external consultants
  • \n

  • Fluent use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, SketchUp and Adobe Suite
  • \n

  • Exceptional 3D concept visualisation skills are a must
  • \n

  • Possess a strong ability to conceptualise and interpret spatial design in three dimensions
  • \n

  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • \n
