Job Description
Senior Design Engineer with rotating equipment experience for our client who are global leader in industrial engineered rotating equipment. Worldwide presence with a history of excellence, known for designing, manufacturing, and servicing critical rotating machinery.
Mechanical Design Engineer / Senior Mechanical Design Engineers / Lead Designs who strong expertise in the design of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and other machinery.
Demonstrate competence in materials selection, rotor dynamics, structural components, couplings, lubrication systems, and relevant instrumentation and control systems for rotating machinery.
CAD Proficiency:
Utilise 3D CAD software at an expert level, with a preference for Solid Edge, to create detailed component and assembly drawings.
Conduct thorough drawing and technical documentation checks, ensuring precision and compliance.
Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) and maintain gear data while managing engineering change control processes.
Collaboration and Leadership:
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members, including those in adjacent disciplines such as Analysis & Development.
Lead engineering tasks for assigned projects, providing technical guidance and support to team members.
Technical Interpretation:
Interpret and understand customer specifications and design standards, with a focus on geometric tolerancing for rotating equipment.
Documentation:
Create and maintain deliverable documentation, including proposals, manuals, installation guides, and maintenance instructions as required.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with customer and industry standards, with a strong emphasis on performance and safety conformance for rotating machinery.
Technical Liaison:
Act as a technical liaison between the engineering team and Production engineering and Supply Chain teams, facilitating effective communication and problem-solving.
Design Enhancement:
Lead the development of innovative designs and re-engineer existing ones to meet the evolving needs of new applications for rotating equipment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Proven experience in designing rotating equipment, with a demonstrable portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software, with expertise in Solid Edge preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on rotating machinery.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations specific to rotating equipment.
Ability to excel in a dynamic, collaborative work environment.
Prior experience in gearbox design and transmission systems for rotating equipment is highly valued.
