Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical or Mechatronic)

The company are a leading automation integrator, working with manufacturers to automate repetitive processes and increase capacity. The successful candidate will be working in a project team, which overall is responsible for engineering design, implementation and programming of robot cells, product and technology development, software selection and integration, providing quotations and liaising with the client to ensure project objectives are met.



The role is varied, and we expect you will continue to increase your skill set over time and grow into the role.



The role will require a dedication to learning, as the technology is advancing constantly and our position as a leading integrator. Training will be provided to strengthen and develop your existing skills and certification in machinery design, safety control systems, machinery safety and UKCA/CE marking, and relevant CAD/Rendering software.



KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES # Senior Design Engineer



* Project planning and management – ensuring milestones are delivered on time.



* Developing new products to take to market.



* Installation and integration of equipment on customer sites



* Leading or supporting the design and completion of projects, liaising with different skills across our team to ensure all aspects of the project come together as expected.



* Using your mechanical skillset to develop finished designs for fixturing, complete cells, including schematics, controls, and interfaces.



* Lead software development with internal/external teams to solve design issues.



* Maintaining an up-to-date awareness of emerging technologies and trends and communicating this across the teams to keep everyone at the forefront of knowledge relating to our products and services.



* Collaborate with colleagues at industry exhibitions.



* Understanding relevant ISO and Machinery standards to building safety into every application in line with them.



QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES



Essential



* Preferably qualified to BEng level in Mechanical Engineering or similar



* A good allrounder with a desire to learn and develop the additional skills required to fulfil your role



* Experience in Mechatronic Electrical and Mechanical engineering design and development



* Knowledge / experience of Sledworks or similar design and rendering software



* Strong Mechanical and electrical engineering design skills



* Ability to problem solve using different techniques, trouble-shooter, tenacious in finding solutions



* Excellent verbal and written skills able to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.



* Attention to detail, accuracy, time management and prioritisation



* Demonstrate a passion robotics and automation



* Effective communication across internal and customer teams



* up-to-date awareness of emerging technologies and trends



DESIABLE NOT ESSENTIAL



* Experience if low voltage electronics – schematics and building electrical cabinets / Pneumatics / Visualise / PDM / Multiple Project Management / Robotics / multi axis arms



NB: Candidate must be able to drive and have a full UK driving licence



DETAILS OF PACKAGE – Senior Design engineer – Electrical and Mechanical – Automation - robotics



Up to £50,000 PA (Depending on experience) + Benefits / 39 Hour week: 8 to 5 Monday to Thursday / 8 to 1 Friday (Some flexibility around core Hours (by agreement)) / Good training and career development opportunity with a strong, established and growing business. / Fuel allowance for staff commuting in excess of 40 miles per day
