Job Title: Senior Developer – Data Engineer
Location: Hybrid in Columbus, Ohio – 2 days onsite, 3 days remote
Duration: 4 months – Potential for Temp-to-Hire
Rate: $65 - $75/hr
Employment Type: W-2 only
Scope of Services:
The Senior Developer – Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure data solutions on the Azure platform. Proficiency in Azure's data services ecosystem, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks, is essential. The Data Engineer will architect solutions capable of handling diverse data volumes, velocities, and varieties while ensuring performance and compliance with industry regulations and company policies. A strong understanding of cloud security principles, including Azure Active Directory, network security groups, and encryption services, is critical for maintaining secure data architectures that support both real-time and batch processing.
Role, Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Design and implement data solutions on Azure, ensuring scalability and security.
- Architect data processing solutions to manage high-volume data workloads.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data architecture and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to data architectures and processes.
- Monitor performance and optimize data solutions for efficiency and security.
- Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders to clarify requirements.
Education & Qualifications:
Senior level: 7+ years experience in role with:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent discipline or equivalent work experience
- Experience, knowledge, and exposure to various project delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile)
- Strong process and analytical/problem solving skills including the ability to interpret and clarify technical issues
- Demonstrated facilitation skills, written and verbal communications skills, organizational skills, and the ability to deliver clear, concise presentations •Demonstrated team spirit with strong adaptability, openness to feedback, and the ability to work cooperatively and creatively across an organization
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated experience working under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated experience working independently in high-priority situations
- Demonstrated understanding of business case justification methodology used to recommend process improvements or technology enhancements
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflict
- Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented with ability to communicate with both business personnel and technical experts
- Utility background but not required Senior level:
- ITIL v3 or v4 a plus
- 40 hours of ongoing professional training per year with at least 10 hours related to this role
