Senior Diesel Mechanic Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major components of vehicles and equipment. Ensure accurate diagnostics and effective repairs to maintain operational efficiency.

Senior Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with safety standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repair identified issues.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems with moderate complexity.
• Provide guidance and support to other maintenance staff.
• Use vehicle computer systems to identify and resolve failure modes.
• Estimate time and material costs for repairs and order necessary parts.
• Report additional repair needs or delays to supervisors.
• Inspect and assess the quality of repairs by external vendors.
• Conduct safety checks and emergency service calls as required.

Senior Diesel Mechanic Position Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No formal education required.
• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and physical examination.
• Proficiency in tools and equipment used for vehicle repair and maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose and repair a range of vehicles and equipment.
• Familiarity with fleet maintenance software is a plus.
• Physical effort handling objects up to 30 pounds regularly.
• Exposure to occupational risks such as cuts, burns, and chemicals.
• Work in a repair/maintenance shop environment with dirt, odors, and noise.
