Senior Director, Manufacturing Operations
Job DescriptionIn this role, you will have the opportunity to:Drives the long-range strategic planning process for Manufacturing operations by overseeing and managing all manufacturing operations including tactical day-to-day operation commitments, including Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Safety, Production control, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Control, Procurement, and shipping/receiving activities. This position is responsible for multiple locations throughout the US. Defines goals, improve technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with managers of manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, and sales. Translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures, while delivering the revenue plan for the site or group. Maintains AS9100 Processes, Key Metrics, IPC Certifications, safety, and regulatory compliance relating to the production facilities. This full-time onsite position may be based at any of the following Mercury facilities including Torrance, CA., Cypress, CA, Chantilly, VA., Phoenix, AZ , Alpharetta, GA, or Gulf Breeze, FL. You are responsible for: Responsible for meeting production requirements which support Mercury revenue requirementsEnsure that manufacturing and daily production objectives/plans are executed in a timely and cost-effective mannerEnsure standards for safety, product quality, delivery, and value are met and maintainedDrive the development and implementation of operating methods and procedures to eliminate bottlenecks, problems, improve product quality and efficiencyDrive sustaining engineering initiatives to modification of products, machines, and equipment in order to improve production and quality of productsCreate a culture of continuous improvement through kaizen. Drive improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery through kaizen events. Implement tier meetings and standardized metricsEnsure the factory is optimizing performance by implementing the appropriate lean methodologies - VSM, standard work, pull systems, TPM, cellular manufacturing, 3P, etc. to maximize productivity, capacity and throughput while minimizing lead time and WIPDefine and develop the Manufacturing operational strategy. Lead the development of the operational excellence plan in support of the overall strategyInstill a culture of problem-solving methodology throughout the factory throughout the product life cycleEstablish and grow a highly talented, high-performance Manage the order fulfillment process to ensure On Time Delivery commits to customers are metManage COGS through cost control, material usage efficiency, labor utilization, quality performanceDrive and assure continuity of supplyOwns the management of the entire product lifecycle within the factoryMeasure factory performance and drive continuous improvement with regular business reviewsImplement daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs for manufacturing, production, and operations utilizing standard and customized metrics and analysis to demonstrate efficiency, productivity, and profitabilitySelect, develop, lead and coach the team with the goal of meeting/exceeding goals To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or similar desired10+ years experience in a Manufacturing Operations leadership role within a manufacturing environment. 5+ years in a Lean leadership roleA successful track record of being able to establish and achieve performance goals and objectives for quality, cost control, manufacturing efficiency, and process optimization. Previous experience in leading OpEx initiativesExperience transforming manufacturing sites through the implementation of lean methodologies while achieving revenue targets and targeted P&L savingsExperience in the development and or refinement of a company's Lean/OpEx operating system. Demonstrated development and execution of a company/operational strategy, while providing linkages to performance of day-to-day operationsEarned reputation for having successfully implemented lean management while driving the change management process across multiple locations.Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of the P&L and balance sheet are required. Significant experience in identifying key opportunities that drive financial performance for an organizationAbility to influence at all levels of an organization. Demonstrated success influencing cultural changeDemonstrated knowledge and application of all TPS/Lean and Six Sigma toolsExcellent organizational, leadership, motivational, analytical problem solving and strategic thinking skillsExhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practicesExcellent Communication Skills / Strong People Management skillsPrevious experience in Aerospace, Defense, of high-Tech companies is preferredActive secret clearance or ability to successfully obtain a clearance
